The Cannabis Regulatory Agency (CRA) issued multiple formal complaints against the Releaf Center of Niles between September of 2021, and January of 2022 regarding violations to Mich Admin Codes, following investigations by the Michigan Regulatory Agency (MRA).
In May of 2021, five statewide monitoring system (METRC) package tag numbers were placed on administrative hold pending an agency investigation. The MRA says 18 sales were made from the packages after they were placed on hold, nor did the company verify in METRIC that the packages were placed on administrative hold prior to the sale or transfer. MRA says these actions violated multiple Mich Admin Codes.
The Releaf Center of Niles was ordered to pay $30,000.
In October of 2021, MRA says the Releaf Center of Niles held a customer appreciation event in October of 2021, where customers who made a purchase received a free edible sample. The MRA alleges the facility gave away trade samples and the free product given to customers was not recorded on the sales receipts in METRIC; both Mich Admin Code violations.
The Releaf Center of Niles was ordered to pay a $26,000 fine.
In November of 2021 CRA formal complaint for failure to timely file the required Annual Financial Statement. The Releaf Center was ordered to pay $10,000 in fines.
As of 3/19/2024, all fines have been paid and the license on file with the Michigan Licensing and Regulatory Affairs Department is in good standing.
