- Advertising Review:In April 2022, BBB contacted HonDep Moving regarding claims in its advertising, including the statement "We are a licensed & insured HonDep Movers" and the logo for AMSA ProMover. According to the BBB Code of Advertising, the primary responsibility for truthful and non-deceptive advertising rests with the advertiser. Advertisers should be prepared to substantiate any objective claims or offers made before publication or broadcast. Upon request, they should present such substantiation promptly to the advertising medium or BBB. BBB has been unable to verify current licensing for the business or current affiliation with AMSA and requested the business provide any documentation that supports these claims, but did not receive a reply.
Its website also states, "With over 100 reviews on Google, Thumbtack and Facebook you'll be sure to find out why HonDep is the #1 moving provider in Savannah, Georgia." Superlative statements in advertisements about the tangible qualities and performance values of a product or service are objective claims for which the advertiser must possess substantiation as they can be based upon accepted standards or tests. BBB is requested that the business provide substantiation for this #1 claim but did not receive a response.
