On February 9, 2024, BBB Serving Los Angeles and SiliconValley requested that the business substantiate, modify, or discontinue claimson the company's website, https://zapaka.com.The business advertises “Up To” Price Savings Claims such as: “Final Sale Up To 80%OFF, SHOP DIRECT!” and “Up to 80%”.
The BBB Code of Advertising states, “1.1 The primary responsibility for truthful and non-deceptiveadvertising rests with the advertiser. Advertisers should be prepared tosubstantiate any objective claims or offers made before publication orbroadcast. Upon request, they should present such substantiation promptly tothe advertising medium or BBB. 11.1 Where a savings claim (for example, “save upto 40%”) covers a group of items with a range of savings, the number of itemsavailable at the maximum savings must comprise a significant percentage, at aminimum 10%, of all the items in the offering, unless local, state orprovincial law requires otherwise. 11.2 To avoid confusion or any possibledeception, an advertiser should consider including a disclosure of both theminimum and maximum savings available under the offer. In such an instance, theadvertiser must avoid any undue or misleading display of the maximum.”
