On February 16, 2022, Better Business Bureau contacted Pacific Glass concerning the following advertising claims found on its website, https://www.pacificglass.biz/. Specifically, Pacific Glass claims:
“Voted #1" and "That's why we've been voted Washington's #1 glass company!" Pacific Glass did not provide any information as to who voted them number one or when as requested.
“Certified by the American Better Business and Contracting Bureau” – Requested proof of certification.
According to the Code of Advertising, advertisers bear primary responsibility for truthful and non-deceptive advertising. Advertisers should be prepared to substantiate any claims or offers made before publication or broadcast and, upon request, present such substantiation promptly to the advertising medium or BBB.
Despite written requests, as of March 30, 2022, Pacific Glass has not responded to BBB’s request for revisions and clarification in its advertising.
