- Advertising Review:Regatta Grill Restaurant has been the subject of a BBB advertising challenge brought to their attention by the BBB concerning a consumer complaint about their Groupon advertisement dated July 23, 2019.
According to a consumer complaint, they purchased a Groupon coupon to visit the restaurant to have a meal. Allegedly when the consumer arrived at the restaurant they were greeted at the establishment door with signage that allegedly stated that restaurant only serve breakfast. According to the restaurant's advertisement on the Groupon website, "Regatta Grill Restaurant is opened for breakfast, lunch, and dinner". The consumer alleges that each time that they visited the establishment they were closed.
According to the guidelines: "The primary responsibility for truthful and non-deceptive advertising rests with the advertiser. Advertisers should be prepared to substantiate any objective claims or offers made before publication or broadcast. Upon request, they should present such substantiation promptly to the advertising medium or BBB."
The BBB requested written clarification from the company about their Groupon advertising claim on what meals they serve versus sign posted on establishment premises.
As of the date of this Business Profile, Regatta Grill Restaurant has failed to respond to the Better Business Bureau nor the consumer
On November 5, 2019, the company sent in a written response to the customer complaints stating that the "hotel is under going a complete renovation which cased the restaurant to close." They worked with Groupon to removed the advertisement and that the restaurant will remain closed until the renovations are complete. This response was sent to the consumer with no additional response received from the consumer.
On November 27, 2019 the advertising challenge against Regatta Grill Restaurant was re-concluded as Substantiated.
