On March 4, 2019, BBB contacted the business regarding their advertised claim on their website https://josephschipsealpaving.com "we will beat any legitimately placed quote by 10%." The ad failed to clearly and conspicuously disclose fully any material and significant conditions which apply including, if applicable, what evidence a consumer must present to take advantage of the offer and failed to provide any terms of the offer to verify if they are not unrealistic or unreasonable for the consumer as The Code states.
The company also advertises a "100% Satisfaction Guarantee." BBB Code of Advertising states advertisers should only use "satisfaction guarantee," or similar representations in advertising if the seller or manufacturer refunds the full purchase price of the advertised product or service at the consumer's request. The Code also states when "satisfaction guarantee" or similar representations are used in advertising, any material limitations or conditions that apply to the guarantee must be clearly and conspicuously disclosed.
BBB requested substantiation of Joseph's Chip Seal Paving's advertisements but the business did not respond to BBB's request for revisions.
As if December 28, 2020 Joseph's Chip Seal Paving have discontinued their website.
