- Additional Info:Xcel Energy has sold its retail business in Lubbock to LUBBOCK POWER AND LIGHT (L P & L) which is due to be completed in late October 2010 pending regulatory approval. Once completed, customers of Xcel will become customers of L P & L.
The plan is for Xcel to bill their customers for a partial month and then L P & L will take over billing. Customers with questions should call L P & L at 806.775.3709.
According to company literature, Southwestern Public Service merged with Public Service Company of Colorado and Northern States Power Company in August 2000 to become Xcel Energy.
