On November 5, 2020 BBB contacted Serene 7 regarding their advertisements of claimed results for their products advertised on https://myserene7.com.
BBB Code of Advertising states claims relating to performance, energy savings, safety efficacy or results for a product or service should be based on recent, reliable, and competent testing or other objective data.
BBB Code of Advertising also states advertisers are responsible for truth and non-deceptive advertising. Advertisers should be able to provide substantiation upon request. Advertising that may mislead or deceive consumers should be avoided.
BBB requested Serene 7 to substantiate with competent studies and provide any evidence including but not limited to studies from recent, reliable, and competent testing or other objective data about their products in their entirety substantiating the claimed results or discontinue any advertisements relating to providing a specific health benefit specific to their product. BBB requested Serene 7 to substantiate or discontinue similar claims that their product can "combat stress and improve health," promote anti-aging, help alleviate pain by reducing inflammation and contain ingredients that helps "reduce mental and physical stress."
BBB also requested Serene 7 to clarify their customer satisfaction guarantee on myserene7.com/shipping-returns. Serene 7's satisfaction guarantee states:
“Customer Satisfaction Guarantee: Serene7 is guaranteed to leave you satisfied!... We process product replacements, partial refunds or store credits, and payment refunds at our discretion.”
Their policy also states Sampler packs are not covered by our Customer Satisfaction Guarantee but offer a “30-day money-back guarantee.”
BBB Code of Advertising states advertisers should only use “satisfaction guarantee,” “money back guarantee,” or similar representations in advertising if the seller or manufacturer refunds the full purchase price of the advertised product or service at the consumer's request.
BBB requested Serene 7 to discontinue advertising “customer satisfaction guarantee” if customers are not always offered a full refund.
As of December 2, 2020 Serene 7 failed to provide substantiation in regards to the specific benefits advertised about their products.
