On May 17, 2018 the District Court of Harris County indicted Marcus Sample Thompson, owner of Texas Barncrafters, on a charge of aggregated theft of over $200,000. On October 29, 2019 Thompson was sentenced to 10 years of incarceration following a guilty plea.
