On June 30, 2021, BBB contacted Rodriguez Painting regarding advertised claims on their website http://rodriguezpaintingsanantonio.com and an advertisement inthe San Antonio AdPages. 

Rodriguez Painting's website and Ad Pages advertisement state: “We’ll Beat ANY Written Estimate.”

BBB Code of Advertising states advertisements which set out company policy of matching or betteringcompetitors’ prices may be used, provided that the offer is made in good faith; the offer clearly andconspicuously discloses fully any material significant conditions which apply including, if applicable,what evidence a consumer must present to take advantage of the offer; and the terms of the offer arenot unrealistic or unreasonable for the consumer.

BBB requested Rodriguez Painting to amend their advertisement to clearly and conspicuously disclose any material a consumer would have to present to take advantage of this offer and any terms and conditions thatwould apply or remove advertisement to address the concern.

Rodriguez Painting Ad Pages and website state: “We can ensure your home will be well painted and guarantee our work” and “we also give you awarranty of 3 years”, “3-year warranty.”

BBB Code of Advertising states when using the term “warranty” or “guarantee” the advertiser shouldclearly and conspicuously include a statement that the complete details of the warranty can be seenprior to the sale which could include putting it on the seller’s website. The Code also states sellers ormanufacturers should advertise that a product or service is warranted or guaranteed only if the selleror manufacturer promptly and fully performs its obligations under the warranty or guarantee.

BBB requested Rodriguez Painting to add a statement explaining how consumers can view the full warrantydetails or add the full warranty details to their website.

Rodriguez Painting advertises they “Guarantees Customer Satisfaction.”

BBB Code of Advertising states advertisers should only use “satisfaction guarantee,” “money backguarantee,” or similar representations in advertising if the seller or manufacturer refunds the fullpurchase price of the advertised product or service at the consumer's request.

BBB requested Rodriguez Painting clarify if they offer full refunds for any reason acustomer may be dissatisfied. If a full refund is not offered, BBB requested Rodriguez Painting discontinuethe “satisfaction guarantee” verbiage. 

Lastly, Rodriguez Painting advertises they are insured and licensed.

BBB Code of Advertising states the primary responsibility for truthful and non-deceptive advertising rests with the advertiser.  Advertisers should be prepared to substantiate any objective claims or offers made before publication or broadcast.  Upon, request, they should present such substantiation promptly to the advertising medium or BBB. 

BBB could not confirm licensure with the City of San Antoniocontractor’s license page. BBB requested Rodriguez Painting to substantiate or discontinue the statement they are "licensed and insured."

As of September 21, 2021, Rodriguez Painting failed to respond to BBB's request.
