On September 18, 2018, the owner of Danny’s Auto Service, Daniel Sansky, pleaded guilty to a felony theft charge for over-billing the Scranton School District (SSD), billing for work done on personal cars of certain district employees, and related offenses. Sansky, an owner of Danny's Auto Service, also pleaded guilty to theft by deception and was sentenced on September 6, 2019 to serve 6-23 months in prison, serve an additional 5 years of probation as well as pay $31,186 in restitution. At the time of the incident, Sansky was the Fleet Manager for the SSD and routinely over-billed from his personal business for incomplete repair work and parts and labor on SSD vehicles.
