On May 31, 2022, BBB of Western Pennsylvania requested that PA Roofs substantiate, modify or discontinue multiple advertising claims on their company website. Below are the outstanding challenges which can be found at https://everdrypittsburgh.com and each challenge below is referenced by its corresponding BBB Code of Advertising principle.
When reviewing the website we found that it does not have a Privacy Policy. A business that conducts e-commerce or collects sensitive data online, as a best practice, should post a privacy policy. We noted that several photos advertised on PA Roofs' website also appear on other websites which do not appear to be affiliated with PA Roofs. If the images are not of PA Roofs' clients, we request that this be disclosed on the company’s website to better manage consumer expectations.1. Basic Principle of the Code: The primary responsibility for truthful and non-deceptive advertising rests with the advertiser. Advertisers should be prepared to substantiate any objective claims or offers made before publication or broadcast. Upon request, they should present such substantiation promptly to the advertising medium or BBB. Advertisements which are untrue, misleading, deceptive, fraudulent, falsely disparaging of competitors, or insincere offers to sell, shall not be used. An advertisement as a whole may be misleading by implication, although every sentence separately considered may be literally true. Misrepresentation may result not only from direct statements, but by omitting or obscuring a material fact.
Per review on July 12, 2024 the business's website includes a reference that they are accredited or members of the Better Business Bureau. This company is not accredited and our policies prohibit such a reference.
