On May 16, 2017, Donald Royce, owner of Royce & Associates, was indicted on tax preparation fraud charges. Royce allegedly prepared fraudulent tax returns for multiple clients in 2014, causing over $250,000 in losses. More specifically, Royce allegedly made changes to client copies of tax returns and deposited clients' IRS payment checks into his personal account, all without the IRS or taxpayers' knowledge.
