- Additional Info:On June 16, 2021, Better Business Bureau received information regarding a company called Empowerment Foundation representing itself as a charitable organization that has made a significant worldwide impact.
Upon conducting research, BBB could not locate a business license, charitable registration, or IRS tax-exemption for Empowerment Foundation.
Further, a reverse-image search found that the staff photos posted on Empowerment Foundation’s website were lifted from a German company’s website, and the photos showing donations made to other charities were taken from other websites and edited to reflect their logo.
In addition, Empowerment Foundation’s website claims it has received a certification from Charity Navigator, which BBB found has issued a High Concern CN Advisory against the organization for misuse of their logo.
BBB cautions donors from donating to organizations that provide vague information on their websites regarding the programs and services offered, as well as those that do not have a verifiable business license or tax exemption with the IRS.
