Important information
- Additional Info:On March 15th, 2017 BBB was made aware that individuals have been attempting to use checks, apparently written off The Orthopaedic Center's account, to scam people across the country. The business confirmed that they have received "hundreds" of calls of such an occurrence.
The scam is as follows: Consumers using online sales apps or websites such as Craigslist or LinkedIn are contacted by an individual that would like to make a purchase or exchange of some sort. They offer up the check with the amount being more than agreed upon or asked for and they request for the consumer to cash the check, keep their amount, and give the rest of the cash to them. BBB has determined the checks are from an imposter and not from The Orthopaedic Center.
