Its listing at homeadvisor.com, under Awards, states "Better Business Bureau: A Rating." The primary responsibility for truthful and non-deceptive advertising rests with the advertiser. A non-BBB accredited business may advertise its BBB grade rating as long as it is truthful. BBB requested that this statement be modified. To date, the business has not made changes to this claim.
Its website and online advertising make multiple references to guarantees and warranties. The video at its website states "Every window treatment comes with my 5 year service guarantee." Its website states "We back our word with a ten year guarantee on all of our window treatments and installations" and "More Than Blinds has a 10 Year Full Coverage Warranty!" Its listing at angi.com "We back our word with a seven year warranty on all of our window treatments and installations, but we do not offer repair services for blinds that were not purchased from More Than Blinds." Its listing at homeadvisor.com states "We back our word with a five year guarantee on all of our window treatments and installations." According to the BBB Code of Advertising, when using the term warranty or guarantee in product advertising, the advertiser must clearly and conspicuously include a statement that the complete details of the warranty or guarantee can be seen prior to sale at the advertiser's location or viewed on the advertiser’s website. Any material limitations or conditions that apply to the warranty or guarantee must be clearly and conspicuously disclosed. BBB requested that the business clarify these various guarantees and warranties and add the terms wherever they are advertised.
The business changed its ten year warranties to seven year warranties, but did not add the terms and conditions of these seven year warranties or the terms of its five year guarantee to its advertising.
