“On January 16, 2019 the business entered into a settlement with the NY Attorney General Letitia James and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. The Assurance settles allegations that the business signed consumers up for store credit cards without the consumers knowledge or consent. The business also enrolled consumers in a credit insurance product without consumers knowledge or consent and misrepresented the terms of the store cards. Under terms of the Assurance, the business agreed to pay $11 million in penalties.
