- Additional Info:In late May 2023, BBB received a sudden influx of customer inquiries and BBB Scam Tracker Reports regarding AB Fulfillment (aka Amazon Fulfillment). This prompted BBB to initiate an investigation. In these Scam Tracker reports consumers indicate they were contacted by AB Fulfillment with a job offer shortly after applying for open positions at other companies online. One consumer told BBB that "I was searching for jobs on Indeed and shortly after, I got an email saying this job was interested in me. They said they would pay me $3k a month and $30 plus every package after 80 of them were shipped off. It was sketchy that they wanted to ship packages to me so I researched the company and apparently it’s a type of scam. They will send packages to a personal home address and the person would scan them and ship them off with prepaid labels." Another consumer told BBB that "in May of 2023 I was contacted by phone, then my e-mail by Julie Benton to work remotely. I would be sent packages. I was told that my job was to check these packages and then mail them off. Before accepting the offer, which was $3000 after a monthly trial and then $1500 bi-weekly, I checked their website, because I didn't remember applying, as I had been applying to a ton of jobs. The site seemed legit, and Julie was answering all of my e-mails up until after the payday (was supposed to) arrived. This was heartbreaking because I've been looking for employment for over 2 years, and I thought this was legit." The consumer never received a paycheck. On June 14th, BBB requested additional information from the company, but BBB has not received a response. Jobs that offer high compensation and similar descriptions are often indicative of "parcel mule scams." BBB advises the public to use caution when considering employment for positions such as these since packages and money sent to "employees" may have been obtained illegally. Consumers may find themselves unknowingly aiding criminals in money laundering schemes by participating in reshipment scams. Such victims can find themselves prosecuted for aiding and abetting fraud schemes. BBB recommends consumers with concerns about this company contact the United States Postal Inspection Service at https://www.uspis.gov/ as well as the FBI's Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) at https://www.ic3.gov/. BBB will continue to update this profile as information is received.
