- Additional Info:After a rise in public inquiries along with several complaints filed with BBB, Metro NY BBB investigated LucyWrap as a possible work-at-home scheme. The company's website at http://www.lucywrap.com alternately claims to have been in business since 2012 and since 2014. BBB did not find a registration for this company with the New York Department of State Division of Corporations. The company's domain is privately registered out of Bulgaria, and was created on 5/25/2015 for one year. After conducting a Google image search, Metro NY BBB found that the images of the company's founder and CEO on the firm's website are stock photos used on Pinterest and found on Fotosearch and GoGraph photography websites.
Shortly after the investigation began, consumer complaints went unanswered by the business. Consumer allegations stem from email solicitations related to a job advertisement on the website Indeed.com for a home-based position as a gift wrapper with LucyWrap. After reportedly accepting the position, signing an employment contract and submitting personally identifiable information to the company, many of these consumers say that they worked for a month at the tasks assigned to them. However, they did not receive the promised payment for their work. Nearly all consumers claim that attempts to contact the company about the status of their pay are frustrating and unsuccessful, with unreturned phone messages, disconnected calls, or emails bouncing back from the company's staff. In addition to being deprived of payment for work that was done, some of these consumers express serious concern about the security of the personal information they provided to Lucywrap.
Metro NY BBB made several attempts to contact this company to obtain information about its business practices and principal officers, as well as to clarify several advertising claims. However, the company failed to respond to BBB's inquiries. In addition, mail has been returned as undeliverable from the address - 727 Third Avenue, New York, NY - provided on the firm's website.
