- Additional Info:After an increase in complaints received regarding predatory lending practices, the BBB began looking into consumer allegations against companies that advertise guaranteed loans regardless of credit history or collateral. One of these companies, Mondell Financial, claimed to be operating in the Metro New York area. However, the mailing address provided on the company's website at http://mondellfinancial.com/ was invalid and the BBB found no record of registration of this company with the New York Department of State's Division of Corporations. Consumers have told the BBB that this company made false promises to arrange for a loan in return for fees paid upfront. Consumers reported that they were approved for loans from Mondell Financial but then asked to “secure” the loan by paying additional fees which were payable by transfer to the company via Western Union. According to the consumer complaints, none of them received the money from the loan, or a refund of the advanced fees that were paid. The BBB made several attempts to contact this business to obtain information about their business practices, mailing address, and to correct their advertising issues, but the company never responded. It appears that the phone numbers given for this business have been disabled, and the website is inactive.
