- Additional Info:On October 11, 2016, BBB Serving New Mexico and Southwest Colorado was made aware that business owners across the country have been receiving calls from a James Davis, an alleged employee of Snappy Duplications, requesting to purchase items on behalf of Snappy Duplications. The business owners claim James Davis provided a credit card number. allegedly belonging to Snappy Duplications. However, the credit card is invalid. Some of the items purchased include ultrasound lubricant totaling approximately $4,000 and a GPS unit costing approximately $3,000. James Davis provided telephone number (909) 453-2595, which at this time is no longer in service. One of the business owners indicated the products were shipped to an address in Georgia. Snappy Duplications is receiving calls from these business owners around the country seeking payment for the unpaid order.
BBB Serving New Mexico and Southwest Colorado has also been made aware that an eBay account was set up under the name Snappy Duplications as a seller and offering products for sale. Snappy Duplications has been receiving phone calls about unshipped orders as well. To date, the seller account in question has been flagged and removed by eBay.
BBB Serving New Mexico and Southwest Colorado has determined the calls to place orders and the eBay account are from an imposter and not from Snappy Duplications. BBB has confirmed Snappy Duplications only has one employee, owner Otis Brown. Mr. Brown has explained to the businesses that contact him that he has no employees, did not place an order for their items, and has not received their shipped items. To calls about the eBay account and unshipped merchandise, Mr. Brown has explained that the account was not and has never been his. He does not have any items for sale on eBay.
Victims of fraudulent activity such as this can file an informational report with BBB Scam Tracker, and they should also file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission. If any of the transaction took place online, consumers may file with the Internet Crime Complaint Center.
