Consumers have reached out to BBB with reports that accounts were terminated or became inactive for no reason, survey points were earned but not awarded, payments were earned but not received. Consumers reported the business was unresponsive to them in their efforts to receive answers to their concerns.
On January 14, 2016, BBB contacted Lightspeed to address a possible pattern of complaints.
Lightspeed advised BBB of the following.
“During the second half of 2015, we had some challenges in our setup, which has generated a peak of inquiries from our panel members. We have dealt with all these inquiries as quickly as we could and with my team, we are convinced that we are clearing this month the last 2015 outstanding tickets. Unfortunately, a backlog was created and our panel members had to wait up to 5 weeks before receiving an answer from us.
As you may have seen through the resolution of the inquiries that were submitted through the BBB, most of these requests could have been dealt with through our customer care team. Unfortunately, our backlog has made our members understandably impatient and we have seen an increase in the number of BBB inquiries.
This is an unfortunate situation that we had to deal with but we have been very transparent with our members, informing them about our delays and doing everything we can to get back to our people. Our credo is to get back to all inquiries and we are committed to do so.
My team has doubled their efforts to get back to panel members quickly. Our usual KPI is 48hrs turnaround time. We have a proven track of records. to respect our KPI. Only in 2015, we had some difficulties but I am committed to be back on track ASAP.”
Although Lightspeed responded to BBB’s inquiry, BBB does not find the response sufficient to address an underlying cause of the complaints.
