BBB files indicate that this business has a pattern of complaints alleging sales practice and billing issues. Consumers are alleging that door-to-door salesmen are not fully explaining the details of the agreement before requiring customers to sign. Another issue being that the business is making claims about their service, but are not delivering on the claims. In one instance, the business offered services to get rid of moles, but then when asked why the service was not performed, the consumer was told that was not something they did. Lastly, some consumers have mentioned requesting cancellation of service agreement and being informed of a cancellation fee that was not previously discussed.
BBB contacted EcoShield Pest Solutions with concerns of these allegations and the business responded on June 26, 2023 with their Agreement to Eliminate this pattern of complaints as follows:To ensure that our customers are well-informed, we have established two key documents: the Service Agreement and the Service Contract Review. The Service Agreement is presented to customers during signup by a Route Manager. This document clearly outlines the pests covered, pricing, service frequency, any discounts offered, and other relevant details. It serves as a comprehensive guide for our customers, enabling them to make an informed decision about our services. Additionally, we have implemented the Service Contract Review, which is presented to customers by the initial service technician before the service begins. This review is conducted to ensure that our customers have a thorough understanding of the Service Agreement and its contents, including pricing, service frequency, and any additional perks or benefits. It provides an opportunity for any clarifications or questions that customers may have before we initiate the service.We are committed to complying with the Federal Trade Commission's (FTC) cooling-off period, which allows customers to cancel their service without incurring any charges. Once the necessary documents are signed, we promptly email them to the customer for further review and reference. This process ensures that our customers have adequate time to review the signed documents and make an informed decision about their continued engagement with our services.
