I received a card in the mail along with my **** in August 2021 regarding Fixed Billing,. I checked the box and signed the paid post card and sent it to Duke Energy. The first call was in August I am disabled and living with my son and since he is the home owner, I should have discussed it with him first but I didnt, so I called to cancel the following day after I put it in the mail in August, 2021, told them I wanted to cancel and they reluctantly agreed. In October 2021 I called them a second time, still fixed ****. Not only was the fixed billing not canceled but we were charged an extra $206 that month for fixed billing so the total was $339.33 which was ** $115 + ****** erroneous charge for canceling . Again I told Duke I want to cancel and they didnt deny me so. Im assuming ok finally. Well this wasnt then end of this nightmare. Now for some reason the **** from January 1 to Feb 1 2021 went back to normal billing $146.33 which is high for the winter, Febuary was $******. March $115 begins again. Now Im not a well person so I have a lot on my plate so at this point I was switching doctors and I was sick and stressed so I forgot about the problem till I picked up a **** a few months later and noticed it was the same amount for like 5 bills.I did call again in spoke to ***** and then ******* Febuary 18 and Tee and ****** on February 22. - It was my intention to cancel the fixed billing prior to Duke receiving the post card in the mail and it was my understanding that it would be done. Fixed billing started in April 2021, charging $******. I called again in November 2021 which is when I spoke to a supervisor, and then yesterday 12/02/2021 and I spoke to Shanekwa and ****.After the initial call in February I noticed the bills were still fixed ($115) so I called again and again I was told ok. The third time I called I noticed resistance I was passed from billing to fixed billing and same thing. Some of the things they said are as follows. You signed a contract Why did you request in the first place No your **** wont be less if you have all new windows You watch TV dont you No your bills wont be less if you cancel fixed billing. Obviously, I can respond to all these statements and I did. So, the third time I called again because we received a **** for $339.33 I spoke to supervisor who informed me that we will be billed $200.00 for canceling, which is what I paid to start fixed billing, and none of the other several people I spoke to had mentioned a fee of $200 to cancel, and I can assure you if it stated that on the little post card I definitiy wouldnt have started **. Now its several months after my first call, and numerous calls to Duke. Supervisor said she would take it $***** out every month until the $200 was paid and she said the following month would be regular billing (this month). But the problem was it was still $****** the exact amount of ** plus $200 totaling $339.33. If I had known all this prior, I wouldnt have sent that post card in. So today (a month later) my son said Duke took out $132.00. Which is coincidently the same ** amount of $****** plus the $17 equaling $132.00 so again still fixed billing in my eyes because thats not my *********************. But the person I spoke to said it was a straight **** not fixed. So I feel as if there is a obvious gross injustice here. And I cannot be convinced otherwise. Especially by the shallow communications listed above. Id like to be back on the same billing program I was on before this all started. I would love to have all my money back that I feel was robbed of me. So just to recap Every phone call since August 2021 has been to Duke to cancel the ** and get the bills I had previously. Here are my bills from: History before FIXED BILLING 2019 WINTER December $74.66, January *****, February $82.66, March $41.34, April $80.29, May ****** 2019 ****** May $****** June $133.63, July ******, August $124 2020 WINTER January $58.06 February $66.11 $March $73.51 April $104.19 May $******.. 2020 ****** May $128.10, June $132.93, July $132.67, August ****** 2021 WINTER February ******, September fixed **** starts @ $******, October $339.33 (charged $****** to end fixed billing I was never told by the numerous Numerous people I spoke to. And they claim it was on the post card about fixed billing and it was not. At this time I made another call to Duke. November $****** Was suppose to be a regular **** but Im contesting that. Because when you break it down its Fixed billing at ****** + ***** = ****** I feel I shouldnt be charged anything because I canceled this back in August according to my bills and notes. Duke actually owes me money now Because we are in the winter months and they are just going to keep this going forever charging me $******. I know we dont use a lot of electric. I am very frugal about everything. And my proof is the past 2 years during the winter months and summer months. So my **** this month Duke claims is a normal, regular **** at $****** in the winter. Which ironically is the exact amount of ** and the partial payment of $200 which is $***** So add ***** + ****** is exactly ******. So I call them again I pay that much in the August. Of course they deny deny deny. Theres nothing wrong here. This has been going on since August. Duke just simply doesnt want to stop billing ****** and more. Im sick over this. Just Sick. Miscarriage of justice. I can barely buy food right now.
