I went to a local Bank of America branch to deposit a $10,000 check. I was given a print out with a transaction ID informing me a hold. I was given dates the funds would be available. The deposit was made around 12:45 pm on 12/1/2021. $5300 was supposed to be available on 12/3/2021 at 5:00 pm and $4475 is supposed to be available 12/8/21 at 9:00 am. As of today 12/4/21 that portion is still not available. I have $4 in my account and was told my money would not be available until 12/10/21 at 4:00 am by one customer service rep. I explained that it depending on that money and cannot live on $4 for nine days. I was then transferred to another customer service representative and was basically told nothing could be done. I have previously banked with ***** Fargo and made large check deposits and my funds were available the next business day. Given the circumstances I was lied to about when my funds would be available I would like to File a complaint against Bank of America for not processing check deposits in a timely manner. I will have to borrow money for my bills, rent, and groceries until the money is available. This is the second time Bank of America has placed a hold on my funds. The first time was in October and was a paycheck from my employer in the amount of $600. I understand that the check has to clear but the fact that I have used other banks and never had an issues with a hold this long makes me very upset. Bank of America was not willing to do anything. I asked if I could just have at least $500 available to hold me over until they process the check and was told no. $4 is not going to last 9 days. They need to reevaluate how the process check deposits. They told me all banks take that long and place holds but not in my experience with other banks.
