Built a new house in the summer of 2015 and our builder procured *************** Forrest Ridge siding from a local building supply company in the Appleton, WI area. The *************** siding products are owned by Plygem. After 5 years we noticed considerable fade of the siding and decided to submit for a warranty claim. We submitted all necessary materials and photos to Plygem for the warranty consideration and were informed after a few weeks that our siding was in fact not faded enough for a warranty claim. It was stated, "the samples provided measured an average Delta E of less than: 2.15 Hunter units", which apparently is not enough to be considered, rather it would have to be fade in excess of a Delta E of 5 Hunter units to be considered excessive fade. I cannot imagine what that amount of fade would look like as we have Pewter colored siding and its faded to an almost light grey color and is quite noticeable. In general I find it appalling how little companies have to actually stand by the quality of their products and unfortunately consumers have such a limited set of suppliers to use for said products. I am leaving this review here in hopes someone see's it and thinks twice before purchasing *************** siding or any other siding that happens to be owned by PlyGem. A company that is certainly willing to take consumers money in return for poor quality products they can shrug off when something isn't proper just a few years down the road. I certainly did not expect to need to consider replacing an entire house worth of siding after just 5 years.
