- Advertising Review:
On January 31, 2020, BBB Serving Minnesota and North Dakota requested that the business substantiate, modify, or discontinue claims on the company's website and accompanying Facebook ads. Specifically, LDKS / Price Fashions offers a "Natural Stone Beaded Bracelet" (and other items) "free for alimited time," explaining that customers "just pay shipping andhandling," with an accompanying "value / regular price" shown for each item.
BBB asked the company to explain how these offers work, whether they require anything further of the customer (aside from paying shipping and handling), and to substantiate that the "value / regular price" shown on items is reflective of what they normally sell for.
The BBB Code of Advertising states that, “The primary responsibility for truthful and non-deceptive advertising rests with the advertiser. Advertisers should be prepared to substantiate any claims or offers made before publication or broadcast and, upon request, present such substantiation promptly to the advertising medium or the Better Business Bureau.”
The BBB Code of Advertising also states, “The primary responsibility for truthful and non-deceptive advertisingrests with the advertiser," and that "Misrepresentation may resultnot only from direct statements, but by omitting or obscuring amaterial fact."
As of July 22, 2020, the business has failed to respond to our request for substantiation.
