On September 8, 2020,  the business entered into a Consent Order with the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry. The Consent Order settles allegations that the business violated  Minn. Stat. 326B.082, subd. 11(b)(1)(8)(9) and 326B.84 (2)(4)(15) (2018). Under terms of the Consent Order, the business agreed to ensure the business complies with all statutes, rules and orders for residential building contractors, remodelers and roofers in Minnesota; provide reasonable supervision over all their projects; to be prohibited from beginning insurance funded work under a price-agreeable contract until an estimate and agreed to the scope and cost of work is provided to the owner's insurance company, with the exception of emergency repairs completed to protect the property from further damages. The business shall also complete the work as listed in the contracts and change orders, provide written notification of the work performed to the property owner and/or insurance company before requesting payment or release of insurance proceeds. In addition, the business shall ensure all communications, including invoices, are accurate and reflect the work completed, materials installed and if requested, documentation to support the costs. The business will also not seek or accept final payment from the owner until all permitted work is completed and approved by permit inspections and all other contracted work is completed.  The Consent Order was for settlement purposes only and should not be considered as an admission of guilt or finding of violation of the law.
