On January 27, 2020, the business entered into a Consent Order with the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry (DLI). The Consent Order settles allegations that the business violated Minn. Stat. 326B.082, subd. 11(b)(9) and 326B.84 (15) (2018). Under terms of the Consent Order, the business agreed to update internal procedures and business practices to ensure compliance with statutes and rules regulating residential building contracting, including but not limited to: properly supervising all projects, including a start and end dates in all contracts with homeowners; ensure all plans match design and materials used as listed in the contracts; make all payments to subcontractors and suppliers as they are due; ensure all changes are in writing; ensure all permits and inspections are requested, performed and passed as required and maintain all business records for three years as required by Minn. Statute. The business also agreed to respond to DLI with all information and documents on DLI request and notify DLI of any lawsuit or judgement within 15 days.
