HAMP is designed to help struggling homeowners avoid foreclosure by modifying their mortgage to a more affordable payment. While this program has failed to live up to its expectations, we've been able to help hundreds of homeowners avoid foreclosure and dramatically lower their mortgage payments with this program.
HARP is designed to help underwater homeowners that have been unable to refinance due to the value, or lack of value, of their home. Now, homeowners that have a mortgage backed by Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac can take advantage of record low interest rates and refinance their underwater mortgage.
