BBB contacted the business to share our concerns about the alleged misrepresentation of book formats sold, and requested that the business modify their advertisements to limit confusion; Unfortunately, the business failed to respond.
In November of 2018, BBB received an influx of complaints filed against GoArtShop, www.goartshop.com that were notably similar to complaints filed about Jamessaleonline.com.
When BBB reviewed the website, www.goartshop.com, BBB noted that this website also fails to prominently disclose that books sold are digital copies (eBooks). Upon further review, BBB of MD confirmed that the websites Jamessaleonline.com and www.goartshop.com are indeed affiliated.
BBB contacted the business in November of 2018 to inform the business of our concerns, and requested that the business modify the goartshop.com advertisements to limit confusion.
To date, the business has been unresponsive to BBB's requests to modify their advertising.
BBB determined that while the business claims to operate from the address 619 E Clement St Baltimore, MD 21230, the business is not registered as a business entity with the State of Maryland Department of Assessment and Taxation.
One consumer informed that an email received from the business had an Ohio business address listed: 2162 Venice Blvd Ross Twp, OH 45014. When BBB researched this address, we determined that the address is an unaffiliated residential property.
Based on these concerns, BBB is not able to confirm the legitimacy of this business.
Consumers who made purchases using a credit card are advised to dispute the charges with their credit card provider, as the business has been unresponsive to BBB communications.
BBB of MD will continue to monitor the volume and nature of complaints submitted about this business and will update the profile with developments, as they surface.
