On 9/18/2019 the Massachusetts Division of Banks announced that Cafeta Foods LLC dba El Pikante Food Shop had been operating as a check casher in MA without a check cashing license, and charging more than the legally allowed amount per transaction. The business must cease operating as a check casher until it has obtained the proper licensing, and must refund any overages it collected as a check cashing fee.
