            According to BBB files this business has a pattern of complaints concerning lack of customer service with issues regarding: gas cards that do not work, resulting in out of pocket expenses; lack of reimbursement for out of pocket expenses; and late fees charged when a vehicle was dropped off at the correct return time. Customers also report issues with the cars themselves, including cars that are in disrepair, or not available at the location requested by the customer.  Consumers indicate to BBB that they want reimbursement for out of pocket expenses, refunds of late fee charges, and better customer service at the time help is requested.               I rented a car from Zipcar on Wed Nov 24 and it was patently unsafenearly dead battery, all dashboard controls not visible (cant seen speed, gas etc). Then I was given a second car that was disgustingly dirty.At this point, I was delayed by an hour, dragging 5 suitcases between the different garages. I was already late to pick up my children for our family holiday. Thus I had no choice but to take this dirty car and go.The company said I was not entitled to a discount for this substandard rental because I actually used the car. . I engaged in a contract with to rent a safe and clean car. There were not able to provide that. I had no choice but to take a compromised car because I was not able to leave my children stranded or cancel a family trip.They are not holding up their end of the deal. The only thing they will do is giving my future credit, but that's not the same thing as compensating me for a substandard product
