On 9/6/2019 the Massachusetts Attorney General's office announced that Bryan and Keith Taylor, owners of Father and Son Moving and Storage, and the now out-of-business Father and Son Relocation Services, Inc., were found to have violated a 2013 consent judgement which permanently enjoined the principals from engaging in an illegal bait and switch scheme that violated Massachusetts consumer protection law.
The 2013 consent judgement addressed allegations that the business gave customers low cost estimates for moves, and then demanded higher fees after their belongings were loaded, refusing to return the belongings unless the higher fees were paid. The business was found to be in contempt of the agreement in 2017. The business has been ordered to pay $75,000 in restitution to the MA AG's Office, with an additional $15,000 to be paid if the principals violate record keeping and reporting requirements that were also part of the 2013 consent judgement.
