- Additional Info:BBB began an investigation on this firm after receiving numerous inquiries and complaints concerning the company's misleading advertising promoting corporate business filing with the Kentucky Secretary of State. Through the BBB investigation it was learned that this company's address is not a physical location, rather a mailbox at a UPS Store.
Further, Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes warned businesses about the misleading "Notice of Potential Compliance Violation" from from this firm. She stated the mailing appeared to be an official government document, but it is not.When the business owner calls the number, he/she is told to pay a one-time fee of $70 to apply for a Certificate of Existence.
A certificate of existence is proof that a domestic corporation or domestic limited liability company is in existence and will be provided by the Secretary of State's office for a fee of only $10. The official, correct certificate may be requested from the Secretary of State's office online or by mail or fax.
"Businesses should exercise caution before providing information or payment to Business Compliance Division, or any other entity that makes misleading claims or requests," said Grimes.
