- Advertising Review:On February 17, 2021, BBB challenged advertising claims made by Lysiak Chiropractic, P.C. ("Lysiak"). BBB requested that the business substantiate claims that represent chiropractic care as a safe and effective treatment for human allergies, as well as producing discrete outcomes concerning the human immune system. Lysiak writes that "Chiropractic can help reduce the severity and the frequency of your allergies. Chiropractic does not work like an anti-histamine as a direct, short term relief from allergies. Chiropractic allows your body to be better equipped to fight against allergies." The company also writes that "Chiropractors work with the nervous system by aligning the spine to relieve any stress on the nerves. This allows the immune system to work at a higher level, making it easier to fight off infections while recognizing allergies." This challenge was conducted pursuant to the BBB Code of Advertising, Sections 1 and 34. As of March 31, 2021, Lysiak has not responded to BBB's requests. The case has been closed as unsubstantiated.
