- Additional Info:BBB received four complaints for Minors Construction of Central Illinois LLC between July 27th and October 5th, 2022. Two complaints allege the company received payment and never started the project, the other two complaints allege the company completed the project but there were issues with the workmanship. All parties stated that they have been unable to reach the principal of the company. All four complaints have been closed as no response from the business.
BBB attempted to reach out to the company multiple times regarding these complaints and the company's business practices via phone, (217) 971-1421 and (217) 299-6656, email mcoci2021@gmail.com, and USPS to the address 3315 Bissell Rd. Springfield IL 62707. As of November 16, 2022 BBB records indicate the business has not responded.
Regarding work preformed, one complainant stated that the company installed a roof, which was leaking, and another complainant alleged that part of the project she paid for was also to install a roof, which has not happened. According to the Illinois General Assembly, " Sec. 1. Legislative purpose. It is hereby declared to be the public policy of this State that, in order to safeguard the life, health, property, and public welfare of its citizens, the business of roofing construction, reconstruction, alteration, maintenance and repair is a matter affecting the public interest, and any person desiring to obtain a license to engage in the business as herein defined shall be required to establish his or her qualifications to be licensed as herein provided." https://www.ilga.gov/legislation/ilcs/ilcs3.asp?ActID=1346&ChapterID=24
BBB searched the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulations, the regulatory agency that issues roofing licenses in Illinois, for Minors Construction of Central Illinois and the company owner, Mr. Mike E Minor IV, using the licensing search function, in addition to requesting a copy of the license in previous correspondence with the company. As of November 16, 2022 BBB has been unable to verify that the company or principal has obtained an Illinois roofing license.
