I’ve had State Farm Insurance for several years. I was with them for awhile then changed briefly due to rate increases. They recruited me back with better rates. I really have always been pleased by the nice lady in B****** *****’ office so I came back to them. I pay $330 a month. I have never filed a claim until I had a bad run of luck. I had to have my windshield replaced when debris hit my windshield, that’s when it started in March 2020. I purchase the extra roadside service just in case anything happens. Earlier this year, I had to use the roadside service for a lockout. Then, about a month later, I backed into a guardrail and filed a claim. I paid my deductible of $500. They supplied me a rental car while my car was being repaired. The repair took a little longer than expected (I went through their recommended shop) and they extended the car rental. I was so pleased with how they handled it. Then a month ago, my engine locked up in a busy street here in L******** and the car could not be driven. Since I pay extra for the roadside service I used the towing service to have my car towed home until I figured out where to take it for repairs. The tow truck driver was extremely nice and professional. I called the office to see if I could tow it again. They told me it counted as a claim against my insurance. WHAT?? So, since it counted against me, I’ve now had multiple claims. I expected my car insurance to get raised a little so to avoid what they consider “another claim by using towing service) I went on and purchased *** to come tow my car to the dealership for repairs. Over thanksgiving, I received a letter stating they are not reissuing my insurance. Really? After all the money I have paid for insurance, your cancelling my policy? I’ve never filed a claim and I have been paying insurance since I was 16 years old. I’m now 42. So why do I have insurance if I can’t use it without getting canceled? And why do I pay extra for roadside service if it’s going to count as a claim on my regular insurance? I’m beyond frustrated. Now, I’m going to have to try to get insurance with another company and more than likely won’t be able to get insurance since I’ve had a claim. I’m sure it will hurt my chances with a previous insurance not Renewing me now too. I’ve always that insurance was a scam. This reiterates that feeling. There little motto and catchy jingle saying “State Farm is there” is false advertisement for sure.
