BBB received reports from consumers in mid-July 2021 regarding the event, Pasta Palooza Mac n Cheese Festival, held on June 12, 2021 in Peoria Illinois. The event was coordinated by John Govia of Govia Media, LLC. Some allegations from consumers state that there were not the number of vendors present as advertised, food was not available, items to be included with their ticket purchases, such as drink tickets and T-shirts, were not received, and the kick of time for the event was much later than advertised. BBB reviewed company advertising for the event on their websites which included: https://pastapalooza.online/, https://stayhappening.com/e/mac-n-cheese-festival-%7C-downtown-peoria-%7C-6-12-21-E2ISTJXY705, and https://www.facebook.com/goviaradio and confirmed the company was offering the items consumers alleged they did not receive.
On June 30, 2021 BBB reached out to Mr. Govia via email, johngovia@gmail.com, and postal mail to the address found on the companies corporation document, 329 E Lincoln ST. Bloomington, Il 61701, giving Mr. Govia the opportunity to address these issues and asked what kind of resolution if any, would be provided to these attendees.
While researching Govia’s upcoming events, BBB noted that another festival has been planned and advertised by Mr. Govia, Peoria Fiesta, to be held on August 8, 2021. BBB requested Mr. Govia address what steps and measures would be taken to avoid the previous alleged issues do not occur for this festival.
As of July, 26, 2021 BBB has not received a response from Mr. Govia. The letter sent via mail was returned to BBB as undeliverable however BBB did not receive any indication the email was not received.
