As a consumer advocate, not refunding an unused Shaka Gold Membership contradicts our purpose. To avoid refundswe request you research activities & attractions to ensure participation. Determine before purchasing themembership if it will save more than it costs, ($30). Please do not expect to go up to any merchant in thestate of Hawaii and receive a discount.
If after researching you determine you will not save more than the cost of the membership, please do not purchasea Shaka Gold Membership. You'll end up costing our "do good" organization money & reputation.
If while using your membership, a participating merchant doesn't recognize their discount or the program, callour office 1-800-398-9698 ext 111 to speak with the Executive Director, Toni Marie Davis. She will turn thesituation around provided you did not book through a middleman. The membership discounts are only extended ifyou book direct with the owner of the business.
Do not purchase membership based on the chance of obtaining 50% off owners' tickets. These are limited in numberand if you are lucky enough to be get - it's just that luck. On the first of the month nearly 100 people arecompeting for these tickets.
If you are reading this page for the first time and you were unable to use the membership or misunderstood howthe membership worked and would like a refund, email: refunds@a3h.org andexplain the reason(s) for your request. As a not for profit that lobbies for consumer protection it would beironic for us not to refund you. We do charge a 5% fee ($1.50) on all refunds to cover processing fees.
Owners Tickets
Do not purchase a Shaka Gold Membership based on the purchase of Owners Tickets.Owners Ticket are a limited number and are sold on a first come first serve basis.They are good for one year from the date of purchase. These tickets are not refundableunless your scheduled excursion is canceled by the supplier. All owners' ticketrefunds are subject to the approval of the activity supplier. To ensure an expedientrefund include the date, time, name and title of the employee canceling the excursion.
