              Checked in to Holiday Inn Express in *********, ** on Thursday, Nov 18 for two nights. Elevator was out of order. We were in room 217. In room 219 was a dog that was regularly barking next to the connecting door. On the night of Nov 19, we tried to call the front desk, but there was no phone in the room. We went down to the front desk around 9:30PM and there was another couple from across the hall complaining about the same issue. You could hear the barking dog from downstairs in the lobby. I asked ******** at the front desk to call the *** ***********************. She called ********** who stated they could either move us or refund us. I asked for a refund; however, the stay was paid through my IHG account in points. She said she would arrange for the points to be refunded and that it would take 24 hours. I confirmed with ******** that ***** would be in the next day (Saturday) and asked that she call me. On Monday, having received no call, I called the hotel and get ******** She said ***** hadn't been in and she was submitting the refund of my points. I again asked for an email or phone confirmation. None came. In addition to the dog issue, the toilet backed up later than evening. Additionally, I was surprised to see most of the service staff (with the exception of the front desk staff) unmasked through our stay. This was especially concerning with the staff serving/cleaning the breakfast area.
