Business responded to the pattern of complaints as follows:
Our cancellation policy is that month to month members provide us a 30 day written notice delivered to our business address. We ask that members send those letters via certified mail so everyone is protected against false claims. When we receive a member's written notification, we process their account for cancellation as long as the account is not in delinquent status. This consists of processing the member's final invoice and setting their account to expire 30 days from the date of their final invoice. Most of these complaints stem from people that see the final invoice payment that falls within the 30 days, after they have provided us written notification. We are a national franchise and our cancellation process is determined at the franchisor level, it is fair and provided to all members at the time they become a member.
I have stressed the importance of maintaining a professional attitude with my employees. They are younger and sometimes become frustrated with individuals attempting to get out of their commitments by stretching the truth.
