On June 19th 2019, BBB sent correspondence to Mia Aesthetics requesting their voluntary cooperation in providing steps it will implement to eliminate the pattern of customer generally.
On July 24th 2019 Mia Aesthetics provided the following response "Mia Aestheticsis aware of a pattern of generally filed. A few months ago, one of our plastic surgeons, Dr. Palladino, left our practice. Many of our patients had already booked their surgical procedures with Dr. Palladino before he announced his resignation. As a solution to Dr. Palladino's departure, we gave patients the option of switching to one of our other surgeons for no extra charge. Alternatively, patients that wished to not have surgery with our clinic were advised to cancel their surgery with us.
Patients who decided to cancel their procedure with us were advised that we would not be able to refund their original surgery deposits known as "Booking Fee". This is a policy that is in place in the contract signed by each patient and is also verbally explained to each patient upon booking. While the circumstances of Dr. Palladino's departure were certainly inconvenient and unforeseen, booking fees are nonrefundable to cover the cost of the patient's initial consultation and other costs incurred.
The increase of generally are for patients who have decided not to have surgery with our clinic and are requesting a refund of their booking fee. Booking Fees are nonrefundable to cover the cost of the patient's initial consultation and other costs incurred.
We expect our customer generally to decrease due to the fact that the increase was caused to one of the doctors leaving the company. We will continue to explain to our patients that booking fees are non- refundable. In addition, we will continue to respond to any inquiries the Better Business Bureau may have.
On November 6th 2019 BBB reviewed its most recent generally and determined that the pattern has discontinued. BBB will continue to monitor and update the company's report as needed.
