In March 2020, BBB contacted this firm concerning several advertising claims on its website.
One of these claims, "We take pride in being the oldest and finest home builder in Florida of manufactured homes (mobile homes), modular homes, and park model homes" appears at the Home page. According to the BBB Code of Advertising, the primary responsibility for truthful and non-deceptive advertising rests with the advertiser. Advertisers should be prepared to substantiate any objective claims or offers made before publication or broadcast. Upon request, they should present such substantiation promptly to the advertising medium or BBB. The company did not respond to BBB request that it provide substantiation that the firm is "..the oldest...home builder in Florida of manufactured homes (mobile homes), modular homes, and park model homes."
With regard to the claim "We are committed to offering you the best home, in the location of your choice, at the best price," it is BBB's position that despite an advertiser's best efforts to ascertain competitive prices, the rapidity with which prices fluctuate and the difficulty of determining prices of all sellers at all times preclude an absolute knowledge of the truth of unqualified underselling/lowest price claims. BBB requested that the company provide substantiation for this "best price" claim but did not receive a reply.
The company states that "We have a proven record of accomplishment and are a reputable company in the United States." According to the BBB Code of Advertising, claims relating to performance, energy savings, safety, efficacy or results for a product or service should be based on recent and competent testing or other objective data. The company did not respond to BBB's request that it provide substantiation of its "..proven record of accomplishment.."
