  In May 2023, BBB contacted the business regarding claims in its advertising.
  
  Its listing at linkedin.com states that Elegance Home Painting has a "A FIVE Star rating with the Better Business Bureau and Consumer Affairs."  Its website states it has "An A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau and Consumer Affairs."  According to the BBB Code of Advertising, the primary responsibility for truthful and non-deceptive advertising rests with the advertiser. Advertisers should be prepared to substantiate any objective claims or offers made before publication or broadcast. Upon request, they should present such substantiation promptly to the advertising medium or BBB. BBB requested that the business provide substantiation for the five star rating, A+ rating and membership with Consumer Affairs claims and remove the claims that the business has a five star rating with BBB. The company agreed to make adjustments to its claims. To date, no changes have been made. 
  
  The claim "#1 Painters in Jacksonville Fl" appears at its website. "Elegance Home Painting was rated "Number One Painters in Jacksonville, Florida" for 2009-2013" appears at its listing at porch.com. Superlative statements in advertisements about the tangible qualities and performance values of a product or service are objective claims for which the advertiser must possess substantiation as they can be based upon accepted standards or tests. The business did not modify or provide proof for these claims.
  
  Its website claims that the business provides a "Standard Five Year Warranty on Paint Job," "A written guarantee for all services completed," and that an "Exterior House Painting Includes with special advertise price (standard 1 year warranty)."  When using the terms warranty or guarantee in product advertising, the advertiser must clearly and conspicuously include a statement that the complete details of the warranty or guarantee can be seen prior to sale at the advertiser's location or viewed on the advertiser’s website.  Any material limitations or conditions that apply to the guarantee or warranty must be clearly and conspicuously disclosed.  To date, the business has not added the terms of its warranties and guarantees to its advertising.
  
  Its website offers the following 'Specials:' "Exterior house painting: Have your single story house, painted as low as: $1,600 (max sq. foot 1600)" and "Take advantage of our interior house painting sales special! Interior house painting as low as : $99.00 a room with our coupon."  According to the BBB Code of Advertising, an unqualified sale may be used in advertising only if there is a significant reduction from the advertiser's usual and customary price of the products or services offered and the sale is for a limited period of time. If the sale exceeds thirty days, advertisers should be prepared to substantiate that the offering is indeed a valid price reduction and has not become their regular price.  The business did not modify its advertising or provide the start date for these specials and their anticipated end dates or show that these reductions have not become its regular prices.  As of July 2024, the offer has been changed to "SPECIAL Exterior house painting: Have your single story house, painted as low as: $2,600 (max sq. foot 1600)" and "SPECIAL Take advantage of our interior house painting sales special! Interior house painting as low as : $199.00 a room with our coupon."
