- Advertising Review:In July 2021, BBB contacted Credible AC regarding advertising claims on it websites and advertisement in the July-August 2021 Duval Home Pros Guide.
The ad in the Home Pros Guide offers a "10 Years Warranty." Its websites state "Top AC Install & Repair Backed by a Lifetime Warranty" and "Credible AC Company Backed by 100% Satisfaction Guarantee." According to the BBB Code of Advertising, when using the term warranty or guarantee in product advertising, the advertiser must clearly and conspicuously include a statement that the complete details of the warranty can be seen prior to sale at the advertiser's location or viewed on the advertiser’s website. Advertisers should only use satisfaction guarantee or similar representations in advertising if the seller or manufacturer refunds the full purchase price of the advertised product or service at the consumer's request. When satisfaction guarantee is used in advertising, any material limitations or conditions that apply to the guarantee must be clearly and conspicuously disclosed. When advertising lifetime warranties, the advertisement must clearly and conspicuously disclose its intended meaning of the term lifetime. BBB requested that the business add these disclosures to its advertisements but did not receive a reply.
The statements "Protect your family from COVID-19 with UV light technology. UV light Technology kills 99% of viruses and bacteria" appear in its ads in the Home Pros Guides. The BBB Code of advertising states that claims relating to performance, energy savings, safety, efficacy or results for a product or service should be based on recent and competent testing or other objective data. BBB asked the business to provide any documentation that supports these claims but did not receive a reply.
"Best HVAC Prices Supported by Flexible Financing" is found on its websites. Despite an advertiser's best efforts to ascertain competitive prices, the rapidity with which prices fluctuate and the difficulty of determining prices of all sellers at all times preclude an absolute knowledge of the truth of unqualified underselling/lowest price claims. Advertisers must have proper substantiation for all lowest price claims. The business did not provide substantiation for this claim or modify the statement.
