According to the BBB Code of Advertising, the term “at cost” can be used where a business's prices are the current prices which retailers usually and customarily pay when they buy such products for resale. BBB requested that the business provide substantiation that its prices for tires are comparable to those charged by wholesalers in its trade area. The business did not provide the requested proof or modify the claim.
The claims "Good credit? Bad credit? No Problem! We finance everyone!" and "Ask us about guaranteed financing" appear on its website. Generally, when advertising credit acceptability, all qualifications and terms must be clearly disclosed in the advertisement. If a consumer with bad credit cannot receive the same terms as someone with better credit, it must be disclosed. Such terms must only be used when all credit requests are approved. The business did not add the necessary disclosures to ensure compliance with not only the BBB Code of Advertising, but the Truth in Lending Act.
