• Advertising Review:

  In February 2024, BBB contacted The DRIPBaR Old Saybrook regarding claims in its advertising.  
  
  Its website states "All our compounding is done on-site and in a sterile environment to prevent clients from contamination." At its FAQ page, under Where do you mix your vitamins? the business states "We use only 503B compounding pharmacies."  Under Where do you get your ingredients?  "We only source our ingredients from FDA-approved, 503B facilities...Our products are shipped overnight on ice to ensure proper refrigeration." According to the BBB Code of Advertising, the primary responsibility for truthful and non-deceptive advertising rests with the advertiser. Advertisers should be prepared to substantiate any objective claims or offers made before publication or broadcast. Upon request, they should present such substantiation promptly to the advertising medium or BBB. The business did not provide the requested written documentation in support of these claims. 
  
  Its website and Facebook pages include many health benefit claims related to the services offered by the business.  Below is a sample of some of the health benefit claims in its advertising:
  "These drips are tailored to fit your unique lifestyle and provide benefits such as increased energy, enhanced immunity, faster recovery, and even anti-aging effects."
  "Our IV drips offer more than just energy benefits. The vitamins included in these drips pack a powerful antioxidant punch. These antioxidants help minimize the effects of daily stress."
  "The DRIPBaR’s immunity IV drips will give you the peace of mind you deserve when you travel. They are designed to provide high levels of antioxidants and hydration throughout your trip...Our immunity IV drips may also minimize allergies, protect you from infection during surgery, and help you recover post-operation."
  "These drips are great for those looking to fight off colds, sinus infections, bronchitis, and other infections caused by viruses. These drips may also help prevent stress-induced viral illnesses such as cold sores, shingles, herpes, and more."
  "This drip combines high doses of vitamins and magnesium to provide support to your cells and reduce muscle pain, spasms, headaches, and anxiety symptoms."
  Chronic Pain: "Our customized blend of vitamins, combined with weekly B Complex injections, may help reduce inflammation, improve circulation, and enhance your body’s natural pain fighting abilities."
  Gut Health: "These ingredients act as the primary fuel source for the cells that line the intestinal tract and promote gut repair and reduced inflammation."
  "Maintaining healthy levels of ALA (alpha-lipoic acid) can help to protect normal cells from the side effects of chemotherapy, and can prevent peripheral neuropathy. Delivered intravenously, ALA has also been shown to assist in killing tumor cells."
  "A combination of IV Drips and Quick Shots to help boost mood and reduce symptoms of depression"
  According to the BBB Code of Advertising, claims relating to performance, energy savings, safety, efficacy or results for a product or service should be based on recent and competent testing or other objective data.  For medicinal, therapeutic, and ingredient claims or claims to diagnose, treat, cure, mitigate, or prevent any illness or disease, scientific clinical evidence from human clinical trials is preferred to support these claims. To date, the business has not complied with BBB's request that it provide substantiation for these claims and that claims not able to be substantiated with proper scientific documentation either be removed or modified.
