On its website and its listings at dealerrater.com and kbb.com, the business offers a "FREE Lifetime Powertrain Warranty!" and "12 month/ 12,000 mile parts and labor guarantee on all work." Under the BBB Code of Advertising, when using the terms “guarantee” or “warranty” the advertiser must clearly and conspicuously include a statement that the complete details can be seen prior to sale. These details must disclose any material limitations on the guarantee and warranty.
Garavel Subaru's website states it is “Connecticut's Fastest Growing Subaru Dealer." Statements such as this can be proved or disproved and require substantiation.
Its website states "The Lowest Prices on Used Cars in Norwalk CT near Westchester and Westchester County Are Waiting at Garavel Subaru.” At its kbb.com listing it states "BEST price guarantee on all vehicles." These claims imply that its prices are the least expensive when comparing its products to others. According to the BBB Code of Advertising, such claims can be tested and proven true or false. However, it is difficult to keep a constant and up-to-date tally of all product prices from all competitors
At the Trade-In page at its website is the statement "Get the most for your car. We don't have stockholders to please - just our customers. Unlike Carvana or CarMax, our appraisals are usually 10% to 20% higher and we'll work with you." According to the BBB Code of Advertising, the primary responsibility for truthful and non-deceptive advertising rests with the advertiser. Advertisers should be prepared to substantiate any objective claims or offers made before publication or broadcast. Upon request, they should present such substantiation promptly to the advertising medium or BBB.
