  In July 2024, BBB contacted Restore Hyper Wellness Glastonbury, CT regarding claims in its advertising.
  
  Its website includes many health benefit claims related to the ingredients and treatments offered at its facility.  According to the BBB Code of Advertising, claims relating to performance, energy savings, safety, efficacy or results for a product or service should be based on recent and competent testing or other objective data.  For medicinal, therapeutic, and ingredient claims or claims to diagnose, treat, cure, mitigate, or prevent any illness or disease, scientific clinical evidence from human clinical trials is preferred to support these claims. Substantiation should involve human testing that is blinded, performed by an independent third party, placebo controlled, conducted on a sufficient scope of subjects, and ideally has been peer reviewed. Claims concerning overall uniquely formulated products also require testing on the combination of ingredients in the product.  Specific ingredient claims also require substantiation. Below is a sample of some of the health benefit claims in its advertising. The business did not respond to BBB's request that is substantiate, modify, or discotinue such claims.

  Recovery: "Boost muscle and tissue repair, and combat nausea, headaches and fatigue."
  Taurine - "Along with boasting antioxidant properties, this amino acid may support cardiovascular health."
  NAD+ IV Drip Therapy - "Benefits: Increased anti-aging intervention; Boosted ATP for energy; Reduced pain and inflammation; Enhanced metabolism; Improved cognition and mood"
  Circadia® Oxygen Facial - "Help reverse signs of aging and brighten skin’s complexion with oxygen, exfoliation and hydration."
  Mild Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy - "May help: Optimized sleep; Repaired muscles; Increased cognitive clarity; Decreased athletic recovery time; Increased energy"
  
  Its website includes the following disclaimer, "The content on our site, blog posts, educational materials, app, promotional newsletters, and any other written content are not intended to replace an evaluation with a qualified healthcare professional and are not intended as medical advice."  According to the BBB Code of Advertising, the primary responsibility for truthful and non-deceptive advertising rests with the advertiser. Such a disclaimer may create a deceptive contradiction, in light of the many health benefit claims in its advertising. The business did not respond to BBB.
  
  Restore Hyper Wellness Glastonbury, CT's Google page includes the following customer testimonials:
  "I felt a significant improvement in my knee pain after 10 minutes of local cryo."
  "I was born with a very bad intestinal disease that made me very sick my entire life until I started drug infusions in the hospital eight years ago..... However, after I started taking IV vitamins, shots, and the services that Restore offers, my energy and mood have greatly increased."
  The business states at its website, "Testimonials reflect individual experiences of real customers, are applicable solely to the individual depicted, and are not necessarily representative of all who use Restore Hyper Wellness products and services. Results do vary and are unique to each individual. Testimonials are not intended to make claims that these products can be used to diagnose treat, cure, mitigate or prevent any disease. Medical services available to clients of Restore are provided by an independently owned physician practice."
  According to the BBB Code of Advertising, in general, advertising which uses testimonials or endorsements is likely to mislead or confuse if it contains representations or statements which would be misleading if made directly by the advertiser.  Advertisers must be able to support claims found in the testimonials used in their marketing. BBB suggested that if substantiation is not available, it would be advisable to remove such testimonials. Use of the disclaimer 'results do vary' should be discontinued or modified to clearly and conspicuously disclose the typical experience a consumer can reasonably expect or that the results depicted are not typical.  The business did not respond to BBB.
